Rovaan, … I played the tape several times and heard what I think the police used to arrest O.J. It’s a distinct reference to a gun as well as a suggestion of violence. But there is a catch – a BIG one. O.J. was clearly distracted when the threat was made, there is no clear indication of who it was directed at, and nobody on the tape – including Beardsley, pays any attention to it. ……….This is what it sounded like to me: … Lull in the shouting match. Indistinct murmuring. … (sounds like a doorknob turning and a door closing) Unidentified man speaking meekly but at a louder sound level than O.J. (sounds like he’s closest to the tape recorder: “That’s me. That’s me, O.J.” …O.J.: "How do I know that’s you, you motherfucker. You tried to take my fuckin’ shirt –" …Sound like a different man heard earlier on the tape overlapping O.J.’s last word and speaking aggressively but farther away from the recorder than O.J.: "Why don’t you (?) crack me (?) on the fucking head with this goddamn gun. See how you like that shit, mother!" (no indication of who he’s talking to or what he’s talking about). …Beardsley (almost overlapping the “gun man’s” last word. Not sure of Beardsley first two or three words): "If it could (?), Montana is online." … Another unidentified man heard earlier on the tape, speaking in a normal tone: "Get that on some cover …" (Sounds like someone turning a doorknob) … Beardsley: "Are you and I cool, or what?" …O.J: "I thought we were cool, man!” …Near the end of the tape, the “gun man” orders someone to put his phone on the bed and adds, “You, too.” ….Someone says, “It’s just my personal phone. Please don’t break it.” ….”Gun Man”: "Hey man, shut your fucking mouth before you get your ass broke." …………Who is the “Gun Man”? Why did he say “gun.”? And why did O.J. and Beardsley carry on their conversation as though he hadn’t said it? If prosecutors can answer these questions using the letter of the law to put them where they will do the most damage, I see how O.J. could spend the rest of his life in prison. –Jasper

NOTE (December 17, 2008): The speaker I identified as Beardsley in the highlighted section of my post was actually Bruce Fromong. The "Gun Man" was Michael McClinton. Click on "Contents" and you can see this post in its original context. --Jasper
