Charlie,
O.J. is a very bad sorce of information on dates. In his book where it now looks like he got other birthdays right, he got his own birthday wrong. He wrote (his ghostwriter wrote and he didn't orrect) that he was born on July 7. In all of his bios except Shiller's, and in Arnelle's testimony on July 10, it was on the 9th.
The reason I was so interested in birthdays was because the chapter I'm working on in The Smoking Gun led me to Sydney's birthday as a focal point of Fuhrman's interest in O.J. That, in turn, led me to a re-examination of the baseball bat/Mercedes Benz incident "in the fall or winter of '85." Oj said that it happened in the fall but that was in 1984.
You'll recall that Kari insisted that it was indeed in '84. Now I know that she was right. The key was the exact day (October 17, 1985) that Sydney was born. Turns out that it was a very big deal in terrns of when Fuhrman first decided to target OJ for something big. Becuase he didn't drop O.J.'s name (that we know of) to Laura Hart when he met her in February '85 or when they started taping in April, it seemed to strengthen the idea that the baseball incident hadn't happened yet. I was wrong. The truth is even more incriminating. It has to do whith the TV movie The Burning Bed with Farrah Fawsett as the victim of a spouse-abuser. The movie was broadcast on October 8, 1984.
More about that later. I want to get the Smoking Gun board going and that's were this belongs. --Jasper
