Kari,

You are right about Westec. There is a BIG cover-up going on there. Mark Day was not the only Westec officer to respond to the call that Nicole made to Westec. You have to blame O.J.'s attorney's and P.I.'s for not following through on that date. I suspect they did the same thing we did when they found out how far off O.J. was on other important dates (wrestled with it for awhile and threw up their hands in defeat). But they had no excuse for not nailing it down with other records from Westec employees and the people who repaired the Mercedes. How about the next door neighbors? Did they talk to anybody?

Howard Weitzman, O.J.'s lawyer in '89 was the one who dropped the ball on that one. I really get into it in chapter 26 of The Smoking Gun. But that was the incident that set the whole thing up. In the book I call it "Mark Fuhrman's first successful attempt at time travel." The part that blows me away is how EASY it was to do. If I hadn't picked up on the killer's obsession with Sydney's birthday through the movie links I never would have found it. --Jasper
