I didn't watch the second movie because the first one was boring. I saw the original DOA, which is very different, and Murder 101. The two are nothing alike if you have seen the old one. The connection to the case of murder 101 is that the killer is the best friend of the man who help put the first victim's husband away for the murder until his students started dying when they started investigating. Actually, at the point where the students starts being murdered and the professor just happens to be there, one scene he goes to the restroom to either take a bath or clean up or something and he comes out and the girl is dead. The husband in Prison tells him how he didn't do it, tells him how he has to prove who killed his wife or else the professor will be sharing the cell next to him as the murderer now has him in his sights. For a made for TV movie, it was good, got trashed by the critics, but I am beginning to believe that many Movies that get trashed get trashed so that people won't see the truth. So many times the truth gets covered up. For example, the police are 99 percent sure Cary Staynor had help with the victims, he was working in California's version of Sandpoint Idaho, They will try him alone to get the one killer leaving the rest because there is no forthcoming information and they don't want the Militia word spoken.
