Kari,
I would love to get the names for the Hildegarde Movies and anything you can tell me about them. I have studied every postwar Allied documentary about the Nazi's I could find since 1960 when I discovered I had a Jewish uncle about the same time I saw the first pictures of the Nazi death camps. That's one BIG reason I wanted to be a paratrooper--because they were a strong symbol to me of people who fought the Nazis. That's way I call myself "trooper" today. All of that is in The Invisible Warriors.
I'm still fighting the bastards-whatever color they are and whatever they call themselves. The Smoking Gun is just my latest battle in that war. Fuhrman is the key and his misogyny is part of it. I didn't miss that face, I just didn't think I had to say as much about it because I figured that any reference to Laura Hart McKinny or her tapes (Men Against Women) covered that pretty well. Also, you haven't seen the whole book yet. I'll try to get two more chapters up tonight.
I'm glad you mentioned Speer at Nuremberg. I'm not sure whether I did or not in any of my books. I think I did in Iago and the Smoking Gun but I'll have to check. In any case, that's one of the reasons I wanted to create this discussion board--for anything significant I missed.
I agree with you that there are far to many Fuhrman's out there (of all colors) and that is yet another point I'd hoped people would see in The Random Factor series and Iago. The Smoking Gun gives me another crack at it and comments like yours are always welcome. We're in the same fight Kari. We have to hit the enemy (institutionalized bigotry) with everything we have and keep on hitting them until they stop moving. I think that's what Charlie, Pat, Charlotte, Gary, Kate, Allita, Sydney, Jean, Maggie and others who have e-mailed me with their support have in common. We're all in the same fight and I don't think any of us is going to quit until all the MFs in authority are down for the count. --Jasper

Forgive me for saying so, but if you haven't seen the Hildegarde Movies, I will get the names if you need them, you do not have the Gendar Bias facet of Mark Furhman. Also, <I hate writing this> Nazi documentaries done after the war by the allies> and Speer's book, The Third Reich. You almost have to throw Albert Speer into Furhman's character because he to was molded into what he is by someone we don't know yet, unless you do. Furhman was also a coward because he half confessed for show at a his Perjury Hearing and flat out lied and still lies, just like Albert Speer did at Nuremberg and his subsequent book, and even when it was shown to him the proof he knew things early in the War he still lied. Once Furhman is exposed, he will lie. He will probably get off as Shipp is taken to the Death Chamber. I know you have done a lot of work, and you know as much about your charachters as anyone, but the one thing no one has ever done is put the real multifaceted Mark Furhman with all his hate and bullshit as well as womanizing and lying and cowardice and whatever more, brutality, too many words to put out there. I am of the opinion that there are far to many Furhman's out there, and if one person can make one book with this man becoming a seterotype that can be seen by others, than our society will be a safer place. Maybe I am nuts. Now, don't all agree with this at once. :):):)
