Ah! Kari, Hildegarde the schoolmarm detective…

The series was way ahead of its time in the way it treated issues of race. Hildegarde had black and white students-but she treated them as individuals. I thought that was amazing for the early 30s and very cool. That's a good reason for it to have made a lasting impression on Fuhrman, too.

The biggest thing I got out of the old movies is the likelihood that he saw them on television when he was a kid. When the son of a bitch goes on trial for murder it's going to be interesting to see what his old friends have to say about the movies they talked about or saw together.

I saw The Penguin Pool Murder (loved it) and Murder on a Blackboard. You're absolutely right. Comedies provide some of the most damning references to Fuhrman-related evidence in the Bundy murders. Old black and white movies like Penguin Pool Murders show me that the killer took a big interest in the movies and that a lot of things from his old favorites stuck. --Jasper

------------- Okay Jasper. Murder On A Honeymoon, Penguin Pool Murder, Murder On The Blackboard. As I said, you have to get past the comedy to realize the similarities. The first one listed is actually the last one made, Penguin Pool Murder is first, then the third then the first on listed. The order is just how they are on my tape. There may be more Hildegarde Movies, but these three have more than anyone might believe.
