I'M retatively non-politacal, too-busy-with-my-day-to-day-little-slice-of-life kind of guy. I would like to think I was raised in a non-racist household. I've only read a few chapters of the book so far, but it makes me very un-easy to have my outlook on this case do a total 180. I was convinced that Simpson had murdered those people. Now I can't see how I was able to accept this notion. Would I have believed it with such conviction if it were Will Smith? Yes. James Earl Jones? Yes. Brynt Gumble?!? Yes. Johnny Carson? NO WAY!!! I asked some of my friends and they reacted the same way. What does this say of average-joe-american? I'm not stupid and I know rasist people exist even in this day and age, but was it racisam that made us convinced of O.J.'s guilt? I wonder...
