there is a small mystery in the simpson case nobody seeme to have noticed. for me, it begins with sheila weller's book, RAGING HEART.
in that saga of simpson's supposed abuse of nicole, the author takes time to tell the strange story of 'murphy's ranch'. this is a complex of buildings in topanga canyon designed in the 1930's by an african-american architect name paul williams.the day after pearl harbor, however, murphy's ranch was raided by the FBI. it had become an advanced headquarters for german nazis!
weller then makes a direct comparison between this 'scandal' of a black man aiding the racists and the simpson case. but why? what did the murder of an ex-wife have to do with nazis?
was the story even true? was there a black architect working in los angeles in the 1930's by the name of paul williams? indeed there was.
but paul revere williams received an award from the NAACP in 1953, and i could find no reference to his building a 'murphy's ranch' or being scandalized with a nazi connection. this was indeed odd, but what did it mean?
only years later did i learn of a book called BLOOD OATH in which the allegation is made that simpson was framed by a group of nazis. there too, for no good reason, the authors mentioned exactly the same story of 'murphy's ranch'! why?
now i did an internet search for any place in california called 'murphy's ranch', and found there was a famous place of that name in sonoma county. this 'murphy's ranch' was the site of the opening battle of a conflict known in history as THE BEAR FLAG REVOLT. it was the short war in which california declared its independance from mexico. the seige of 'murphy's ranch' lasted from june 10-14, 1848, and the BEAR FLAG REPUBLIC lasted only until july 9, 1848, when the stars and stripes were ceremoniously raised by a descendent of paul revere.
PAUL REVERE WILLIAMS! JUNE 10-14, with the bundy murders in june 12-13! JULY 9, simpson's birthday!
a mere coincidence?
but where did the stories in RAGING HEART and BLOOD OATH come from? weller, we know relied heavily on ron shipp as an informant, while the authors of BLOOD OATH have a mystery man they call 'the dark german'.
mark fuhrman = dark german.
'murphy's ranch' = the scandal of a black man abetting a nazi.
a mere coincidence?
