another movie worthy of inclusion is an old john ford epic called SARGEANT RUTLEDGE. this tells the story of a highly repected black man accused of killing a white woman and her male companion. although completely innocent, the man flees the law, and his flight is used as evidence against him. when asked by a friend why he would flee, if he were innocent, he says 'because it's the one thing none of us can fight - white woman business.'

the movie includes a song designating the hero as 'captain buffalo' - recalling simpson's glory days with the bills.

strangely, TNT, turner network television, played the film only 2 days after simpson's famous 'slow speed chase.' it must have been programmed months in advance.

another film mr. garrison mentions is A DOUBLE LIFE, which had been out of circulation for years. yet in july, 1994, just as the preliminary hearing was underway, it showed up in national syndication in a 'colorized' version that also must have taken months to prepare. 'colorization' is, of course, the brain child of ted turner.

turner announced his deal with time-warner on the same day as the simpson criminal trial verdict. the viewer share of CNN had increased 177% during the trial. turner's personal profit was 8 billion dollars.
