The time of seeing Mrs. Furhman in the white SUV (new) was towards the end of the trial in Idaho. It was during the time that MF was going to have to come back and take the 5th or when he was actually charged in the other court with perjury.
That is why the news people were up there. It was during the time that MF was hiding out up there from the press. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of the very modest home that they lived in for a while----but AFTER the move and perhaps after the time that MF had gotten his money for his book.
From other things I have seen on tv and seen written, they moved there to a nicer place later, he bought a boat and more once the money started to come in.
Here's a possibility. Being hounded by the press night and day with handheld cameras might have spurred him to get rid of or at least "hide" the light green Scout from view.
They were up there as soon as he moved and the trial was not over.
I still believe it psychologically bizarre for him to buy a white SUV at that point in time of his life.
But then again, there were several psychologically bizarre things he did--like striving to dress like OJ "quality" clothes, etc.
