Dick did some mighty fine work in laying out the area to help people understand Heidstra's testimony. The pictures on his site plus the maps are a must to anyone trying to understand what happened. Dick has never tried to figure out who murdered Nicole and Ron. He is convinced that it was not OJ though. However, he does believe OJ was at Bundy for a short period of time.
As to the question I asked about the paw prints on the dog, it is important when the dog got the blood on his paws. Since Heidstra testified the dog started barking and continued to bark until almost 11:00pm, it is doubtful he was near the bodies from that point on to leave numerous dog hairs on Goldman and one guard hair on the Bundy glove. One would hardly think he was sniffing at a glove and barking at the same time. Especially since Heidstra indicated in his testimony that he believed the dog was outside Nicole's gate (that's why he went through the alley).
I originally thought like you that the killers would have to "take care" of the dog before killng Nicole and Ron. I emailed a question to Dick asking if the dog could have been temporarily drugged. That is how we started corresponding. But why do they need to take such precautions about the dog? If the dog showed up, they could just kill the dog. The dog may have been upstairs in the bedroom with the children during the murders and only came down after a period where there were no normal sounds in the condo.
Now if the dog is out in the street barking when Goldman arrives, Goldman is alerted to trouble.
Think about the time it took for Heidstra to walk from where he heard the dog start barking to the alley where he heard the "Hey, Hey, Hey". Heidstra puts it at 5 minutes. If the dog is barking crazy because someone has put him out the gate and is attacking Nicole, it seems strange it would take them 5 minutes to kill Nicole and only 2 minutes to kill Ron. The time from hearing the gate slam and Heidstra seeing the SUV is only about 3 minutes and it would take at least one mintute to get to the back gate, get in the vehicle and drive away. This does not even count the time to reopen the gate. Look on the site at how close the tree where Heidstra stood looking at the Bundy/Dorothy intersection is to the alley. There was very little time from the "Hey, Hey, Hey" to the sighting of the SUV.
I understand that in making estimates of the time it took Heidstra on his walk, if you were off at one point, the error would continue throughout. But look again at the timeline we arrived at. It is consistant with the testimony of other witnesses. It matches with what Heidstra testified to at both trials.

PS: Dick has told me that Heidstra owned a "Corvette" and Darden implied he needed money to fix it up.
