Another trial that has a lot of similarities to the OJ trial is the Liza Borden trial. She got off but was thought of as the murderer all her life. They are still aruguing this trial on several web sites. But it was solved by chance and there is a book out there someplace that tells the true story. She went along with a show trial in order to keep a new will from coming out and she and her sister being disinherited. It was quite political and it was to cover up a lot of banking misdeeds and political corruption. It turns out that her father had an illigitimate son. A woman saw him leave the house as she was passing on the street. He had on a long duster and carried a sack. But most of all he smelled terrible. She reported it to the police but they did such a number on her that she would never talk about it. Late in life she told her son in law what she had seen. He knew who it was. As a younster he had worked for or with him. He carried a hatchet in the sack regularly, as he would kill cows, etc for the other farmers. The smell was because he reindered sheep fat. He had said some weird things to this guy. And when she told him and they put two and two together he had confessed the crime. Another things that proved what happened came from some papers that were found hidden in the prosecutors house after he died. This told the why of making Liza seem to be the murderer instead of the son. Strangly the defense is still holding secret papers about the trial. They have been passed down the law firm and they will not release them as attorney client privalege.
