That "Hypothesis of a murder" is the most hilarious chapter in his whole book. Jasper's theory that he is making himself look stupid is the only one that makes any sense. Who could accuse him of having had insider information about the case after reading that. I think he overdid it a bit though.
You are right about him needing attention. Look at his back ground: older brother died from leukimia before he was borne, only child to overbearing, overprotective mother (who wrote to Darryl Gates and asked him to look after her little boy), father (truckdriver, carpenter)left when he was seven, highschool drop out, wanted to go to art school but joined the army instead.
This picture of Fuhrman's childhood has frightening similarities to that of another famous bigott, Adolf Hitler. Now that is really scary.
