Miss Marple, Fuhrman is not an only child. There is a younger brother who MF once held a gun to his head over drug usage.
Brother is also a known spouse abuser (one instance happened during the OJS trial).
It does make some sense that MF is making himself look silly and stupid BUT that is not all of it.
As I said, in the Spokane case, he did the same thing--repeatedly. He made outrageous statements and theories and was proven wrong--repeatedly.
Lange once called him "impulsive"--dangerously so when talking about his career at the LAPD.
That case just prior to the OJS case where he took the door frame HOME to look for the bullet and ended up wrecking the door frame---later causing the murder charge being thrown out against the suspect in Jan. of 95. (funny how that never got reported at the time)--is a Perfect example of impulsiveness and almost genetic stupidity.
Part of it might be his "movie plot mentality" as Jasper has pointed out many times.
I think at the same time that he may be very smart--he is also very much a "loose cannon" and dangerously impulsive.
