From the very first time I read Fuhrman's book and the "hypothesis of a murder" chapter, I have been of the opinion that, first, he only wrote that chapter because he HAD to, that is, because his editor/publisher demanded it on the grounds that his readership would deman it, and, second, that he never really believed in it to begin with.
As for his abilities as a detective:
What if I walked up to a cop on the street and said, "Officer! Officer! I just heard stronge noises coming from behind that tree! I just heard three thumps come from behind that tree." And the cop goes behind the tree and finds, say, a bag of cocaine....Am I going to jail or what?
And yet here you have Kaelin telling Fuhrman about the three thumps that immediately result in him "finding" the glove behind Kaelin's room.
And yet it never occurs to him that jsut maybe Kaelin WANTED him to find that glove, and therefore knew the glove was there to find.
some brilliant detective work!
