Kari, it would depend on whether or not Nicole actually did take Sydney home to change clothes as it was rumored at one time.
If she changed clothes at the school --perhaps in the bathroom with the others having brought clothes with her--that would be different.
I have thought about this and a trip home would have taken approx. 7 minutes to drive, and then change clothes (a min. of 7 minutes, and I say more) and approx. 7 minutes to drive back. That is a minimum of 21 minutes.
Unless Nicole got up before the program was over and went to the backstage to get Sydney and left then, the timing after the recital gets important.
And I have always thought that Garvey's recollections on the time were important. She was the only one who put the time much later. But consider that all the others had a vested interest in it being earlier than later. No outside person at the recital (except Garvey) was ever asked. It was the Browns only. Garvey stated she left the recital around 5:30 and stayed gone approx. an hour to go feed her new baby. And that she returned in time to see Sydney's group and her own child's group in the program. This actually matches MORE with OJ"s assertions that the program wasn't over til 6:45 or later that he made in his interview with the detectives. He says he got home a little after 7. That could be 7:10 or so --esp if you weren't paying that much attention to the time at that point.
Also, OJ states he left to go get flowers for Sydney. Did he go buy them or did he return home for them because he had forgotten to bring them?
No receipts or info about this ever came out.
Those of you who live in CA and around the LA area...where would you BUY flowers late on a Sunday evening? The florists here are NOT open on Sunday. The only place you can get flowers is at the Kroger store florist on a Sunday. What about there?
Speaking of Garvey. She and she alone would know how lone she was away from the recital. I personally can't see any reason at all for her to make up an "hour" trip in the middle of the recital. Not that she could make up leaving but I mean make up that it took an hour. If memory serves me correctly, she made statements about not hurrying and poking around til it was time to go back so she wouldn't miss her child's performance.
It might be interesting to find out if Nicole went home after the recital with Sydney or went someplace else.
