Actually it is not the traffic that you mingle. It is complement time. Everyone says everyone else's kid was great, whether they saw them or not. Also they are large family's getting together for dinner etc and they may not have sat together. I am a seasoned recital goer belive me. You are in no hurry to leave. Also everyone in the family gets their picture taken with the family star. And the kids are talking about the mistakes they made. There really is nothing suspecious about what happened at the recital. I would not want to stop and chat with my ex, but would save him a seat for the kids sake.
