You're darn right something isn't right.
I have NEVER heard of the EMT being held off limits in a case. Never. Can't even imagine why.
Yes, they called (the partner I think) from the car but don't mention in specific terms that they ever arrived. However, other statements were made during the trial that they were in fact declared dead by an EMT. The coroner's report says so as well.
I am now wondering about the time now. If the 12:30 is inaccurate, what about the time of death declaration. Seems ALL this info, most of it not matching other later statements were supplied by Lange to the Ratcliff.
Lange could have told her anything. Did she ever contact the EMT for her report?
The statements made implied that one person from the fire dept. went into the scene and declared them dead. As you said, where did they step? What did they do to determine this? Any tests? Any observation on rigor or body warmth? What did they see in the scene? Hat? Glove? Keys? Pager? Envelope? Did they have to move the bodies?
It makes NO sense whatsoever since part of the case what what was in the scene, the condition of the bodies, what was in the scene and Most Importantly WHAT was in the scene and whether or not there was Two gloves. So why BAR him from the case?
