Yes, Roberts was the first detective on the Cosby kid's death. The witness--the older woman--said she tried and tried to make them understand that it was a celeb's kid but she was ignored forever. Or they deliberately misunderstood?
Don Simpson being dead doesn't mean it had nothing to do with it. Just that his death didn't cause people to come out and speak.
Too many of these people are interconnected. So it may be a "circle" of people rather than one person--like Don Simpson.
Yes, the LA Times does report==what they have to do --but notice how many articles we have discussed that it is a very lame or sparse story about it.
