Solitairea1, Fuhrman and Phillips lied by omission and commission. They did it in a purposeful coordinated way to hide the fact that Brad Roberts – the detective who took no notes and was not called as a witness – was Fuhrman’s partner. This is the level of witness prevarication in a murder trial for which perjury laws were written and should have landed Fuhrman and Phillips in prison for at least a decade. ……. We learned only with the Regnory publication of Murder in Brentwood that Brad Roberts was either unaccounted for or exactly where he had to be when he had to be there to make the frame-up of O.J. Simpson work. This, of course, was too late for anyone to call Roberts as a witness in O.J.’s criminal or civil trial. Even after Johnnie Cochran inadvertently cornered Philips into admitting that he was not Fuhrman’s partner, he did not add that Roberts was Fuhrman’s partner. The shell game that Phillips played with Roberts and Nolan made it seem as though he used the word loosely to say that he and Fuhrman were “partnered” on that occasion and Roberts was partnered with Nolan. In essence, Phillips used Nolan to hide Roberts and his own connection to Roberts. …….. If Roberts had been called by the prosecution, all of his pertinent records would have been available to the defense. That means the defense would have known everything about Roberts’ association with Fuhrman that we have been asking about for years. They would have known when Furman and Roberts became partners, where Roberts was assigned (officially) before they became partners and who hooked them up. They would have been able to ask questions about Roberts’ whereabouts before during and after the murders, compare them to the available records, and probe for inconsistencies between his stories and HIS PARTNER’S, the man they thought planted the glove. What would O.J.’s attorneys have thought if they had known Roberts was Fuhrman’s partner? What questions would they have asked about Fuhrman’s talk with Rosa Lopez? ……… The defense knowing as much about Roberts as they did about Fuhrman would have changed the entire course of the trial decidedly in favor of the defense. With Phillips as Fuhrman’s partner nobody had to ask where Fuhrman’s partner was when Fuhrman was looking for the glove. He had witnesses, including O.J.’s daughter and O.J. himself (by way the phone call from O.J.’s kitchen) that he was on the telephone inside the house. ………. Puts Marcia’s alibi question to Fuhrman in a new light, doesn’t it? With Roberts as Fuhrman’s partner someone would have had to ask for his alibi, too. And someone probably would have checked out both of them. Thanks to the timely testimony of Ron Phillips, no one did. –Jasper
