The longer you stick around the more you will appreciate it. ………You don’t want to show up for a big date with a patch of spinach on your front tooth because nobody wanted to be tacky enough to tell you about it. We can be very tacky. Rose just told you that she thought you had a patch of spinach on your front tooth. ……...I read your post exactly the way Rose did. That doesn’t mean we’re right. It just means that we saw the same things, probably because we have fought the same battles together and against each other for so long. The “intelligence” thing in the context you put it is a red flag to us. If you knew it you wouldn’t have said it but you did say it. ……..The entire issue of mental health is personal to some of us. I had a serious bout with PTSD (I HATE THAT ACRONYM, by the way) and people close to me have suffered from the subtle and the obvious effects of schizophrenia. These conditions are not character flaws. Your post sounded to me as though you believed they were. ……..Mario has made it his business to attack Iago, everything he now believes it stands for and to “retaliate” when anyone here uses a name or a phrase that he takes a personal affront. Trying to get him to see what that kind of thinking means to him is not a silly matter (ask Solitairea1) and it was worth a shot. I tried. I failed. I’m not sorry I tried. The way I see it, its up to Brian now. If he doesn’t do it, it won’t get done. ……..I hate to disillusion you about what kind of forum this is, but people who believe that O.J. is guilty, Fuhrman is a scapegoat and Iago in Brentwood is hogwash are as welcome as those who don’t. Conservative Republicans have worked as hard to uncover the truth in the O.J. case and everything related to it as anyone else and I am personally as opposed to some “progressive” ideas as I am to all reactionary ones. ……….The idea here is to ask the questions you think are important and to make the comments you think should be made regardless of the consequences. The idea here is to muster the courage to ruffle feathers if you think it’s called for but to resist the temptation to do it for its own sake. That’s why I like John Junot so much. He says what he thinks because he thinks it, not because he wants to tear somebody down. Just because we like you doesn’t mean we have to agree with you. We are not going to do it to be nice. ………. I liked your response to Rose, which was also a response to me because she and I were on the same page. This is a tough league and you belong in a tough league. You handle yourself well. Keep doing it. You can’t save the world by doing nothing. –Jasper
