Prien, …..I apologize for taking so long to get back to this but I got sidetracked by other things. …..To understand what I am saying about all of Juditha’s phone bills and phone records you have to keep in mind that I did not use them to construct my timeline. I’m letting you know now that I am going to repeat this fact ad nauseam for reasons that are not apparent. I know that you got it the first time but there is a psychological principle at work here that cannot be overcome by saying something like this once. …… I got practical lessons on this as a teacher with students who understood something I told them but reverted to their starting point when it came time to apply it. As a student, I sometimes did the same thing. To understand what you are saying I have to assume the role of the student. I’m asking that you and I alternately assume the role of student and teacher to fully comprehend what the other person is saying – as opposed the Bob August approach of assuming the permanent role of teacher in every discussion to “correct our mistakes.” We can correct each other's and our own. ……..I did not use Judith’s phone records to construct my timeline. The approach I used is the one you employ whenever you try to solve a logic problem; 1) isolate the relevant information. 2) Propose various solutions (if this is true what must follow). 3) Select the answer that fits all of the requirements of the problem and excludes all others. When you do all of those things you are not guessing at the answer or choosing one that seems most likely. Nobody has to tell you the answer because you will know it. I’m going to finish this post with an example and get back to the phone records in my next post. ……Dr. B. S. Glibly, an award-winning scientist calls a press conference. He holds up a test tube containing a bubbling fluid and says, “This vial contains an acid that will eat through any sold substance known to science instantaneously. Let me demonstrate….” Before the scientist can perform his demonstration a reporter in the audience walks out saying, “Glibly can’t be right.” ……Is Glibly wrong? …….. Don’t answer too quickly or you will probably be stuck with the wrong answer forever, defend it the death and be furious with me for leading you astray. Just keep in mind that the purpose of this exercise is to show how very intelligent people can be led astray, which is the point I’m trying to make with Marcia and the phone records. –Jasper
