It is par for the course that the Bush adminstration appoints foxes to watch hen houses. He has done this across the board. You might as well assume this in any appointment that he makes. Either completely inadequate or completely in bed with who they are supposed to watch. The pharmesuidcal companies give the colleges big grants and then have them do the reasearch for them. Back in 1953, I was a college freshman with a major in chemistry. The only chemistry major. Really rotten school. Anyhow my professor told me that the cancer society would give me a scholorship the following year to do reasearch for them. I never and would never give them a dime, if they where going to pay me to do reasearch as a college sophmore. I was completely disgusted. I quite that school and then soon changed my major, esp after they had to evacuate the building after a mistake I made. I was not really cut out to do chemistry. But that is the kind of thing they do with their money. And the longer they wait to find real cures, the more the pharmacuticals make.
