The flowers look slightly wilted. The knee could be a left knee with the person leaning on the right knee to take the picture but being so tall he couldn't completely get the knee out of the picture. A photographer of sorts could have staged it to have the knee in it for composition as well but the other fits too. Get down on your right knee to take a picture (esp if you are tall) and where do you put your left knee.

About the time of the photograph taken. The surface blood appears to be washed off. But even so, the photo was taken close enough to the crime to still have the blood there. (I thought the friends actually did a better job of getting the blood off than that--it appeared to be in photos.) The more I look at it, I am not sure the surface blood was washed away but only dried which means the photo opportunity happened SO early (if done by MF) and to be spooky and suspicious (before Wed of that week) If such a person was thinking of a photo op before the blood is washed away, it is EXTREMELY telling and that is why I think the time of the photo is important.

Which would mean that a certain person had a "photo op" in mind (and a book?) very close to the time of the murders.

The first part of the note is in "quotes" and could be a quotation from a source we could locate.

As a retired 27 year school teacher, I will tell you the writing is likely a female (not male) writing but MF has a wife or friend. He would want it to look that way anyway and wouldn't want his own handwriting to be ID'd. Also he seems to print everything. I know men that do that and they seldom if ever use cursive writing. He couldn't DARE print anything on a note.

I guess I proved your point of mirror image by wrongly getting excited over the placement of the flowers and note. Unless you really look closely it DOES appear to be the place where the glove and knit hat were found on the Opposite side of the fence and the Opposite side of the pathway.

And why in heaven's name would you pose a picture or take a picture with a little doll figure face down? By that I mean, If it were me taking the photo (as a passerby or a griever), I would reach down and place the little figure (if it were already there and placed there by the leavers of the note) standing up by the note or somewhere else besides face down in the dirt and grim. But then again, I am not Posing a picture for other reasons. I am not trying for any symbolism.

No, luck so far on the blue/purple flowers. That look very familiar to people but they can't place them. That's how I feel--as if I should know but it won't come to me.

BTW, if no luck soon on the flowers, I am NOT beyond asking a florist or the flower arranger at work. charlie
