When it comes to Kaelin, I have to admit that in the beginning, I dildn't pay much attention to him until I realized that not only do his actions make no sense at all that night, but he had very good reasons to lie or to embellish on what he heard that night. He was a prime a suspect in this case and the DA's and the LAPD made sure he knew about it.
However, I don't think that was the number one reason why he lied and/or embellished his story, I think the number one reason is because he was the first person, on that very morning, to introduce Nicole's drug use and her friends' drug use into the case.
To me, this means he had the same thought that Faye's ex-husband, her ex-boyfriend and at least Kris and Bruce Jenner did, that this was a drug hit. It was much easier for them to them to "believe" OJ did it then to deal with the fact that, "If OJ Didn't...."
You might find this interesting but at least 3 civil trial jurors, in interviews, believed Kaelin knew more then what he was telling. Yet, none of them was ever asked why they felt that way. Granted, they might have been asked and their responses may have been edited out, but to the best my knowledge, they never gave reasons why.
