You know who might be a good person to ask these questions of? Mike Rothmiller of LA Secret Police.
He is "out there" in the press some and might be able to be found. At least thru his publisher.
He is about the same age as MF and may have been in his class at the academy.
He is already knowledgeable that the LAPD will cover up murder for one of their own. He writes about it in his book.
He talks of the psycho's in his group wearing "buck" knives on their person. (in uniform) Carrying mulitiple "throw away" guns, etc.
