I wasn't really asking you for your theories, but what you know about this issue.
I have read several pages of testimony, saw countless interviews about this issue, read what several books said about this issue and it all boils down to this:
Sydney heard something that clearly indicated that Nicole was "upset" that night, she, Sydney linked this to her (and her brother) being taken out of the house by police officers and why her mother wasn't coming to get them.
The LAPD and later the DA's could not link Nicole's tears to OJ Simpson but they could not completely bury Sydney's statement as well as the report written by Officer Joan Vasques.
Clark claims it took weeks for her get this statement from the officer which means this officer had several days, even weeks to "re-hear and re-write" what Sydney said.
Faye Resnick has more versions of her story that night then Harlequin has "romance novels". But what is undeniable, on June 16, 1994, Faye Resnick clearly knew Sydney heard her mother, knew Sydney was talking to Faye and knew she need a cover story. She very cleverly asked Nicole's friends who talked to Nicole after the dance recital.
Faye wrote and went public saying that she was the best friend Sydney was talking about and that Nicole was giggling not crying.
Petrocelli and Clark claimed there were witnesses, at least one nurse who could confirm Faye's story, but to the best of my knowledge, the most question to these witnesses is what time was the phone call between Faye and Nicole.
Faye somehow managed to have her phone records and visitor logs destroyed---why if Nicole was giggling about having sex with Ron that night?
Sydney Simpson is a smart little girl, she knew her mother and her father, she saw the best of their marriage and the worst and it was her choice to return to her father as well as making the choice that she wanted no contact with the Browns except for Mrs. Brown. In other words, Sydney has a very good idea on who to go for answers about her mother's murder and it isn't her father---it is Faye Resnick.
In "Raging Heart" written with the cooperation of the Brown family and close friend, Sydney also refers to mommy's best friend as not being a friend at all for the book she wrote--Faye's book.
What does this mean? Sydney was asked about the contents of Faye's book and confirmed who mommy's best friend was.
I agree with you that there has been a lot of confusion about mommy's best friend voice, etc., but think about it Terry, could the LAPD and the DA's office made it any more vague and confusing?
Isn't there a reason why they needed to make sure it was vague and confusing and ensure that it will always be Sydney's word against the officer who overheard the comments?
The LAPD and the DA's were confident that Sydney would never be called to testified but they couldn't be a 100 percent sure, that is why they needed to do everything possible to confuse and pit Sydney's story vs the police statement.
