Thank you Kate,
This is the best coverage (names, details) of the subject I've ever seen--I think. There has to be more.
Did Sydney say she heard the "voice" of the "best friend?" Did she really say that immediately after she she told Justin that something must have happened to their mother? Where is any mention of a telephone conversation. And if it was a telephone conversation that the officer failed to mention, the reporter failed to report or the editor edited out of the piece, how did Sydney hear the other person's voice? Was Nicole on a speaker phone? Did she EVER use the speaker button (I never do; my oldest son usually does)? Or, did she hear the voice of Nicole and Ron in conjunciton with the killing in progress (did she hear her dog barking at the same time?) or was the kid lying?
Most of these questions would have been way to easy to ask and answer without fear of traumatizing Sydney for me to believe that all or most of them were not asked and answered before O.J.'s arrest, let alone the preliminary hearings or the criminal trial. Yet Vannatter and Lange did not see fit to put any of those questions or answers in their book and neither the prosecution nor the defense attempted to pin down Officer Vasquez. Has anyone published her official report anywhere? What about the other officers who were with the children?
What strikes me about this is how close it comes (looking at it by itself) to what Kari thinks about the call and the voice. It also makes me wonder why Faye felt the need to say she called Nicole if she wasn't afraid that the kid might have heard her whether she did or not. But a speaker phone has a distictive sound and I can't believe that Faye was so strung out that she would have said anything she knew would be upsetting to Nicole if she also knew the kids could hear her.
I smell another red herring somewhere. Need more information to know where the disinfomation is and what is its source --Jasper
