Kari and Kate,
We are all agreed that Sydney's EXACT words make all the difference in determining what did and did not happen. We know that they would help us by narrowing the possiblities to perhaps one, as opposed to the dozens of scenarios we can string together from the information we have been given.
The article Kate posted that says Sydney heard the voice of her mother's best friend, adds an element to the case that I had never heard before. There are only so many possiblities. The extent to which strategic omissions from the story, "slight" variations of the story and so many of them have clouded the truth tells us that the people who were doing it did not want the public to know what they did. As Charlie has pointed out a couple of times (and maybe you, too, Kate) you can't hide all of the facts about Sydney's observations without the police (Ron Phillips), the prosecutors (Marcia Clark)and the media (mostly CNN) knowing much of the truth. That pattern cannot be explained by a passionate belief in O.J.'s guilt--not at the level of certain knowledege that would work for them if the whole truth conformed to that belief.
Kate, CNN may be the reason I didn't find out that Phillips was assigned the job of getting to the bottom of Sydney's story. If CNN's transcripts where I looked for it, it's a good bet that it wasn't there. I think CNN is part of the problem--a BIG part of the problem.--Jasper
