Terry, As you know I think it possible for all or part of your scenario to be true. Only with the strong possibility that Fuhrman is the killer. Or one of the killers.
There are just too many things the LAPD deliberately covered up and too many things the Feds cooperated with that were false or against the very rules that they have set up to go by. (like being allowed to retest material from the LAPD and to testify in a civil trial) These things had to come from high up.
Even in the Heidi movie, it says Gates talks of Heidi being an informant for the LAPD. Well, suppose she "lost" her job because she was so openly discussing the LAPD involvement and they needed someone close by to take over for her.
MF may or may not have known of it. I suggest he probably did. He may or may not have had a close relationship with her but the teasing and ridicule would have upset him greatly I suspect.
As much as I believe he had a plan to get OJ, I think that there had to be some personal revenge towards Nicole in the bargain. Some reason for personal hatred of her not just because she had been married to a Black man. Some reason he "centered" on OJ and Nicole and perhaps even Goldman.
But I believe you are correct in the idea that somehow something the cops were doing (involving Nic and company or had done involving Heidi) made a powerful reason to coverup in this case.
In the case that Rothmiller told of in LA Secret Police, it was the embarrassment of a "gay" cop that they covered up. What "embarrassment' were they wiling to go so far with such a public and well loved man to cover up for. Hummmm! charlie
