When Ron Shipp said he ran plates for Nicole, he never said why he ran them. As you know, I totally agree with you about Nicole's strong personality, which is why I doubt she had Ron (or any one else for that matter) run plates for her to find out who OJ's lovers were---she followed him, she knew what was going on, she confronted him, in public on more then one occassion. I mean it makes no sense to me that she would have Shipp run plates to find out what she already knew when it came to OJ being unfaithful.
There has to be another reason why Shipp was running plates and I sometimes wonder if he didn't run plates on his own and run to Nicole and tell her. To the best of my knowledge, Nicole in their divorce papers never made an issue of OJ being unfaithful and that was the legal reason she was getting a divorce. There was no money in that legal reason. Until OJ was arrested for the murders, everybody knew he was unfaithful to Nicole and no one cared, Nicole knew that, any divorce lawyer with half a brain would know that. Hell, even Princess Diana didn't use Charle's mistress against him in the legal papers, in fact, Charles divorced Diana.
OJ Simpson divorced Nicole---many people don't know that. OJ gave Nicole a choice, if she wanted the separation, then he would file for divorce. He wanted to stay together and work on their problems, but Nicole wanted the separation because she was in love someone else. When Nicole went through with the separation, OJ filed for divorce.
What could be the other reasons that Nicole would want plates run, we know she was stalked by telephone. Are we to believe that this guy who was making these calls just stopped because the police told him to stop? A stalker doesn't just "stop", the fear of being caught is overshadowed by the need to know where this person is at all times, know who their friends are, who they are sleeping with, etc.
Also, in OJ's log of Nicole's violence against him, an entry says that Nicole threw scripts at him because of Ron Shipp and his evicting her tenant in her owned condo in Laguna or S.F. I can't remember which place.
Marcus Allen's depo gives a totally knew view point on Ron Shipp and the "power" he had with in their circle, he didn't have the money they did but as a cop, he had just as much value.
