Wasn't the information being released by the media at this point coming from the police and DA's from the very beginning. The police knew when O.J. left on a plane, 11:45, but the media said the police were checking manifests because they believed he took a later flight, in the early releases. The media also made a big deal about how O.J. was able to go to BK's after funeral instead of coming home by having someone else pretending to be O.J. coming home at Rockingham trying to point out that O.J. could have had a double on the first plane once it was shown he was on the 11:45 P.M. flight. Thing was, a friend/photographer was on same flight, and this did not come out till Defense case in criminal trial, so the prosecution allowed the misrepresentation from the media for a year. Whether it was because of misinformation or just outright lying to the media, the DA's and Police lied to the media meaning the media promoted lies to the public whether they knew it or not.
