Terry, While may be true as Kate contends the media believed what they were writing at the beginning, they WERE getting their info from leaks from the cops and DA's. They did not correct stories (cops and DA's that is). Also as you say in your post, these information tidbits did come from the cops and DA's and were many times proven to be wrong later YET the reporters never actually reported the STORY that that they had been mislead or lied to by cops and DA's in this case.

I maintain that is a story that should have been reported AS A STORY: How the cops and DA's mislead the press and the public in the OJ case.

I'm still waiting for that story and I feel it will never come--even if OJ is cleared in the murders. They will never actually report on how the cops and DA's used the Press badly and lied to the reporters.

In the Ramsey case and others, stories have been filed and published JUST about the police and DA screwups and how it affects the case. Also every word of the police and DA's is dissected and commented on.

Where was ONE story about this in the OJS case?

There was no "oversight" of the cops and DA's by the press in the OJ case.

Oversight of the government is part of the stated purpose of the media. They failed miserably in this case. charlie
