I haves said before that this was not a "trick" question by Petro Man or the others. It was not treated that way in the least. In other areas, Petro Man was sarcastic and silly but not so in this case.
If there was a stop for a drug test, why not say so? What is the big secret? We all have learned now that it was done--just not when or where. What is the big secret?
Yes, Kate it is a big issue for me. When Cops get on the stand and present a complete false representation of what happened that day and the defense makes no move to correct that misrepresentation it is a big deal. The question then becomes why the secrecy? Why hide a stop or different location for the interview than really happened? Why is Taft and Weitzman shown making a big deal of leaving Parker Center if OJ isn't even there at the time?
And there are other issues such as where is the Bronco and why was testimony left to stand that it wasn't moved until 3:30 if it was moved earlier?
What about the missing hour from a little after 11 to a little after 12?
Why does Mr. and Mrs. Weitzman claim that OJ went inside at Rockingham and had private conversations with Weitzman when all others--cops included--claim OJ never set foot inside Rockingham that day before he left with them?
To me, all of this points to much more going on that day than we have been led to believe--through actual testimony of the cops.
To me, it is important when the cops themselves seem to be in partnership with the defendant to hide information.
To me, it is a demonstration how through the press and other ways a totally false story can be presented to the public with the willing cooperation of the media.
To me, the reporters with the Full Hard Copy of the OJ depo and read that OJ was not taken to Parker Center for the interview (perhaps before the public ever had access to it {the Goldman's supplied copies to Geraldo and others first if you will recall} hid this fact. They did not report it. They Failed AGAIN to report on a discrepancy in the information given by the cops in this case.
Kate, it is not JUST the secret stop. It is the pattern of a false story being given out by the cops and dutifully reported by the media and when they learn differently they don't bother to correct the false impression their stories gave. Nor do they criticise the cops for telling the false story in the first place (a la the leaks coming from the cops and DA's from the beginning).
Remember it is LaFall (who also interviewed Wm Wasz early on) that went with OJ and Vannatter that day---not Lange. He allegedly met up with Vannatter later. He was at Bundy when Vannatter, La Fall and OJ left.
Didn't any reporter follow the Vannatter car? Any cameraman? If not, why not. They did in all other cases in the trial. They were hot behind the action.
And Kate, if that Bronco was removed earlier than 3:30 as testified to, the reporters and cameramen saw it and failed to report that lie as well.
In this case and all others, it should be extremely disturbing to all Americans that the cops with the FULL cooperation of the media can present a totally false story to the public and it still stand as "fact" 5 years later. charlie
