Charlie,
I'm the one doing the messing with. I've been working my butt off for the past two days to do what I can to speed up the posting time. All of the files I moved so the computer doesn't have to spend so much time to get to it are showing up with the date I moved them. The compther puts in the date automaically. I don't know what to do about it.
You'll also notice that when I go back in to an old post to clean up some obvious typos (I don't mess with anything that might be a close call)the date I made the correction is the date that goes on that post too.
I've been having fits trying to get all of this to work while researching, writing, and editing The Smoking Gun and trying to answer a few posts. Charles Alexander, the web maseter, is supposed to be doing this sort of thing. He knows what he's doing. I just plunder around and cross my fingers. The problem is, Charles is also my typsetter (WRITE HIM A NASTY E-MAIL--LOTS OF NASTY E-MAILS)and if I ask him to do it, there is no telling when or if he will get to it and I know he will use it as a reason for not having time to finish the book.
I don't know what's going on with Charles but he has my most important files and he has gone so far with the book (about where he was in January)that I don't know what to do with him. What I really think he needs is a swift kick in the pants by somebody besides me.
Oh yeah, I haven't had a chance to check the dates (day and time) in the posts I put in the month they were written. I'll have to see how that goes. Your suggestions are always welcome.--Jasper
