Charlie,
I checked the dates on the posts themselves and saw that the original dates were retained (Thank God!). The dates you're getting on your searches only tell you when the message was last modifed. I rarely make changes of any kind to a post unless it is part of a string that others will want to follow later on and there are big, nasty boogers in them that the writer can't go back and correct. You'll see the same dates on those because I try to do them all in one sitting.
You will also see the same dates on the posts I tried to bookmark or copy. All of Kate's earlier posts have the same date becuase she left off her name and I went back and put them in (when I figured out how to do it. When I get the August discussion page straightened out you will see the date next to all of the posts when that happened. When I have a chance I'm going to go through all of the strings and put them in order to make string searches easier. The more posts I can take out of the active discussion the faster the postings go. But I don't want to take out so many that posters can't scroll down and see what someone wrote a few days earlier. Have to play that by ear.
Everyone's patience with me here has been greatly appreciated. --Jasper
