Jasper, I wish I could get more info. I learned of this during the upteen zillion OJ shows I watched on tv during the trial.
It was said an "evidence video" under MF's care disappeared. I have wondered about what they meant by evidence video. It was stated it had major info on it.
Well, there are more than one kind of evidence videos. Surveillence videos, videos like they took of Rockinghan in the OJS case (which didn't surface until the trial was nearly over) and evidence videos taken at the scene of the crime.
One one of the current detective shows on tv, they had a show (based in LA I think) in which part of the show surrounded an evidence video taken by the cops at the scene of the crime when they arrived. It was part of the plot that the video showed that evidence was not in place when the video was taken. It told that it had been picked up and put in one cop's pocket before the video was taken and then he later laid it back down. I forget the details but much was made that a cop told the court about it, and big time case went down the tubes. The Simpson case was referrenced in the show about moving evidence, etc.
Do you recall how many times the question came up in the trial and surrounding the trial about why wasn't a video taken of the scene and surrounding areas, etc? It was always put off that they didn't do that and that they didn't have the equipment, etc. but I have wondered about that. Is that true? Or just true in this case?
What two cases does he tell about in "Brentwood"? I read the book but don't recall.
If they were involved in 10 homocide cases together (Roberts and Fuhrman--is that what you meant?) why is it that the watch commander had no earthly idea who Roberts was? Or is it two with Roberts? I would think working together on two would have made him aware of MF and BR as partners.
At any rate, the evidence video in the tv show made me wonder Just WHY did the evidence video disapear in MF's custody? Also in the tv show, the other cops begged this photog/cop not to tell and they were extremely angry at him for doing so.
There were 5 such dismissals in LA in the year 1995 with some of the cops on scene at Bundy being involved in them being thrown out. Constance Dial (who, BTW< was with the DRUG unit--yet called to Bundy that night) was one. Another was a Teague, I think his name is.
When you think about Fuhrman and the door (reminds me of the RFK investigation and the disappearing door with more bullet holes than it should have had disappearing in LAPD custody) and the disappearing video, it sure HIGHLIGHTS the missing lense, the missing fingerprints, the not testing the envelope, the missing jacket, the undocumented unmelted ice cream, not putting the blood trail in his notes, and now the missing blood swatch of the back gate from the LAPD.
