All of Fuhrman's drawings are deceptive. I talk about that in Iago. It's a trick that Marcia Clark used, too in her diagram of the Rockingham estate. In automotive design it's called "cheating." If a car calls for a 14" wheel you can always make it look better if you render it with a 19" wheel. That's how Mark and Marcia made there evidence against O.J. "look so good."
Instead of conceding that the diagrams were not to scale, he defense should have insisted that they be redrawn as accurately as possible. O.J. would never have been brought to trial because his blood drops on Rockingham combined with the testimony of Kato and Park would have confirmed his alibi. Unfortunately, the defense tried to cheat, too. Their diagrams were no better than Fuhrman's and Marcia's (if, indeed, Fuhrman didn't draw hers). They did everything they could to make the shoe print and blood drop evidence as ambiguous as possible. They even offered contradictory testimony and scenarios to account for the blood in the Bronco and the blood on O.J.'s driveway so thy could argue "reasonable doubt."
If the defense had tried to find the truth rather than the safest defense for their client, they would have left no doubt about who didn't do it and no doubt about who did. --Jasper
