What's moe important -- and missed -- it that it seems that RL testified that she took the dog to the Salinger's BACK yard to relieve itself, when, up to this time, I have been under the impression that RL took the dog to the Salinger's FRONT yard, because the whole significance of RL's testimony from the start was not the voices she said she hear, but that she supposedly saw OJ's Bronco still on the street at 10:00 or thereabouts.
Now, in American English, the "front" yard of a house is the yard on the street side of the house, and the "back" yard is the one on the opposite side. However, this may not be the case in Salvadoran Spanish; at least this may be something that got lost or confused in the translation.
However, IF RL did, in fact, mean to designate the rear of OJ's front (facing Rockingham) yard, then this part of the transcript STILL FITS INTO MY THEORY. As for the gender of the voices, consider that when RL testified about the voices at 9:30 (OJ and Kaelin coming back from the McDonalds), she COULD recognize OJ's voice. When asked about the voices at 12:30, she said she could not -- but neither did she say specifically that it was NOT OJ's voice, and we would have expected RL to say so in response to the question. The logical conclusion, then, is that she simply could or did not hear the voices very clearly. She therefore could simply have been mistaken about the gender of the voices.
Frankly, though, I am not willing to argue these points very strenuously for the simple reason that I do not believe that Rosa's midnight voices had anything to do with the crimes. Like the blue plastic baggie on the south path, and the restaurant menu on the front steps, I consider these voices to have been things that would have been there is the crimes had never been committed. But for the murders, I believe that Rosa would have simply forotten about the voices in a few days. God knows what they really were.
