You did make one BIG mistake. And I do mean BIG. In fact, it's the whole ball game and the reason I am so down on Steven Singular.
The stick did not come from the alley in back of Nicole's condo. That's the story Singular's anonymous source came up with to explain how Fuhrman planted the Rockingham glove. As you follow this please keep this question in mind: How does The Source know?
Shinular's anonymous source says that Fuhrman found the second blood glove in the alley near Nicole's condo (what are the odds?) AFTER RETURNING FROM ROCKINGHAM WITH ANOTHER DETECTIVE AT 3:30 WITHOUT FINDING ANYTHING INCRIMINATING. The source says that Fuhrman handled the glove (still wet after four hours) by breaking off a piece of a fence and using the splintered piece of wood to put it in a plastic bag. Singular's source further says that Fuhrman put the plastic bag containing the glove in his pocket, hid the stick "somewhere on his person," and drove to Rockingham with Ron Phillips (with a hidden foot-long stick), Tom Lange and Phil Vannatter. Fuhrman rode in Phillips' car. When they got to Rockingham, Fuhrman got rid of the stick and planted the glove.
The fact that the police did, in fact, have a stick in evidence and that they did find it where Singular's source said it was found, convinced him that his source had it right. His source also told him that Fuhrman was very smart and very good at planting evidence (as John says, the sloppy way the glove was planted makes him appear to be innocent of planting the glove, but the charge gives him a perfect alibi with O.J.'s supporters). Singular was the first one to report that Fuhrman had an affair with Nicole. He argued that the reason Fuhrman framed O.J. was because Nicole told him that O.J. was continuing to abuse her and he was sure that he felt responsible as a man and a cop for not being able to protect her.
To Singular's credit, he did press for the defense to test for EDTA at the behest of his anonymous source. But he tied up so many other ideas with it that it makes it very difficult to separate fact from fiction.
Singular's story of the sick is fiction. Vannatter and Lange searched high and low for the source of the stick everywhere in the ally and in all of the alleys between 875 South Bundy and 360 North Rockingham. The could not find anything to match so they ignored the stick. Fuhrman complained that they should have listened to him. He said that he found the stick a couple of blocks SOUTHEAST of Bundy (this is the only place it could have come from).
Check page 491 and 492 of Iago. Singular did not do his homework on the stick. He didn't even think the problem through much less work it out. I did. --Jasper
