Linda Wertheimer is one of the more independent reporters out there. If you can get her attention and convince her that your position has merit on its own or that it is shared by many people who don't write NPR for whatever reason, she WILL respond to you.
NPR likes to believe it is fair even when it isn't. Most of the time it is. When they screw up they bend over backward to give a balanced point of view. Linda Wertheimer, Cokie Roberts and Rene Montaign are among the best-known and best-respected electronic media journalists in the world. I listen to NPR all the time and I contribute to the station. It really is the best there is.
NPR has screwed up on O.J. for the same reasons they screwed up on Florida. They relied on the wrong source of information (which - if you trace it back far enough - is Mark Fuhrman) and they made up their minds to quickly about the spouse abuse and the DNA evidence. They got a lot of "little" things wrong and never revisited them.

It is vital that that they hear from as many people as possible BEFORE the documentary or the mini-series become "news" so that they have to take it into account when they are preparing their story. Again, they love to think that they are being fair and they will listen to you if you make a good case and sound like you are speaking for more than just yourself.
To give you some idea of just how important it is, consider the people in Florida who didn't go to the polls because they didn't think their vote would count. On one issue involving Vietnam all of my friends told my that I was wasting my time to write because the would not listen. It turned out that they read from one letter on the subject with the comment they he expected a lot of response but received only TWO letters. I think that's what's happening with the O.J. case. They are simply not getting a credible opposing point of view. --Jasper
