Jasper, So true but it lays to waste the idea that Parks is some kind of champion for truth, justice, and the American Way--doesn't it?
And I would venture to guess that the Coverup is in Direct porportion to the seriousness of the crimes--how far they will go depending on the probable backlash from cop crime. ( a la Fuhrman and company and Perez, etc.)
I have read before (The LA Secret Police by Rothmillar) that the LAPD will REALLY let a killer cop go--without consequences--to save the department from embarrassment.
He gives one or two examples along with other examples or framing and other issues where the cops are given a free ride over it to keep from exposing even worse misconduct or strictly to save department from embarrassment.
He also tells of the retaliation towards cops who try to tell or inadvertantly (as he was) caught in a possible exposure of what was going on--being hung out to dry. He actually did not turn on them but a proper investigation would have exposed the Secret Police and other issues so he had to be stomped into the ground and discredited.
So those who say the LAPD will do many things but they WON"T protect a killer cop are sadly WRONG. They have and will do so again.
