Jasper, Yes, I figured the media part would get your attention.
As I said with Lait, he tried to act like the corruption in the past was "just scandal" and that there was a great deal of difference in scandal and corruption.
If my memory serves me right, even the LA Secret Police files was just "scandal" to him. Not that the LAPD was actually surveilling private citizens and keeping "nazi" like files or "Russian KGB" type files on people and that they were used to blackmail people into co-operation. Gates did that in order to stay on after he was actually fired by the city council.
Reading the LA Times (like most city newspapers) you find the different writers/reporters/commentators are actually writing with an agenda.
Sometimes it is obvious that the agenda is coverup.
Jean, Pat, Diane and others as well as myself notice how many times an LAPD "incident" will take place and you read and find that you can't even pinpoint where, when or how it took place in the article. We have discussed it more than once.
BTW, the LAPD shot someone else last night who had a "shiney" object in their hands. It was not a gun but something wrapped in silver duct tape. Maybe drugs but they couldn't tell that by looking. It is being tested. Fortunately, the man did not die but was shot twice.
