It is obvious to me that Rivera in particular (maybe not Larry King--he appears to make himself deliberately dumb about things) is well aware of Grace's history and goes out of his way to use her.
He should have had a red face using Grace on a case where the cops and the DA fabricated evidence and then allowed her to excuse it away. He didn't.
I think it is another instance of taking the audience for fools and pulling one over on them.
In the last few years (beginning around the time of the OJS criminal trial), Geraldo has been used as an "arm of the government" to put forth an agenda and got paid big bucks (45 million dollar contract) for it. THe Rivera Show does not have that big of a market share of the audience to merit that kind of money. ANd it never panned out that he would be used on the regular NBC network.
The few times they tried, he got shot down. When Katie Couric (widow of his best friend Jay Monahan) tells him to shut up and quit being a jerk and an advocate, you know he bombed with other people.
I believe and have for a long time believed that Rivera is an operative in the media who job it is to bolster the government line.
Vannatter (a drunk Vannatter) told a tv audience here that "we couldn't have done it without him (Rivera)". Couldn't have done what? Demonized OJ. Pulled off the frame? Got the civil ruling? What?
