Why is anyone paying attention to any of this?
I don't get it.
Two scenarios of guilt OR innocence cannot occupy the same space at the same time anymore than two objects can. Either I got the basics right in Iago and all of the necessary details to support them or I got them wrong. So far, every time I found out that I got something wrong (like Heidstra's location when he heard the "Hey! Hey! Hey!", the place where the coins were found and the date of the baseball bat incident) the correction makes my position stronger. The only way that can happen is if I got the basics right.
Fuhrman did it. His partners in the crime were Brad Roberts, Ron Shipp, Faye Resnick and Denise Brown.
You can always find facts to fit any theory and a theory to fit any facts you want to use if you are willing to ignore the facts that don't fit your theory. This is a trap that almost everyone falls into. They work up a theory based on whatever information they have that they hold to be relevant and true and if enough of it holds together to pass an initial test or two of reliability. Then they defend their theory tooth and nail no matter what new facts are uncovered.
It works like this:
You observe that rocks fall faster than feathers and conclude that heavy objects fall faster than lighter ones. You have enough facts about feathers and rocks in general to make a common sense judgment about heavy objects and light objects in general - a theory that seems to work. On the other hand, you might observe that cannonballs and pebbles dropped from the same height at the same time hit the ground at the same time. From this, you might conclude that a feather and a cannonball dropped from the same height at the same time would hit the ground at the same time. You can defend these theories with as many facts and as much carefully reasoned speculation as your ability to research and reason will allow. If you refuse to allow that factors other than size or weight might be involved you'll never find the truth. You wouldn't see it if it shook your hand and stared you in the face.
The bottom line is, if your objective is to prove a theory you probably will if you have enough facts, imagination and intelligence to work with. Discovering the truth is an entirely different proposition. Here, a good theory is only one of as many ships on the sea of possibilities that you can think of. Your objective is to see how many of them you can sink. You might fill some of them full of holes without sinking them, but the magic of the one you can't full of holes is that the holes already there get filled in when you try.
This entire business with Wasz, Kardashian and O.J. had so many gaping holes in the bottom of the hull to begin with that it never had a chance to stay afloat. --Jasper
