No one can guarantee what someone else is gong to do. Kato wasn't even supposed to be home that night. The maid was. The control was in the hands of the person who arranged for the thumps to guarantee that Fuhrman would have an excuse to check behind the bungalow. If something went wrong, the story of the thumps would sound like Kato made it up.
In Iago and on these boards I argued that Kato's actions could not have been predicted because they were irrational. I also argued whenever someone did something that was unpredictable, the evidence got shaky. None of that has changed. --Jasper
