I am a bit surprised as when I worked I know 619 had taken part of the 714 area code, which was basically the East Side of the 714 staid 714, San Bernadino, or Riverside, I am not how sure North if came, 619 went down to San Diego and over to the beach. Part of Orange County is not right at Dana Point. At the time 310 became an Area Code 619 was well established. The area codes in Southern California are an unimaginable mess. Now 949 was spoken about being a new Area Code even in 1990. It was on a list of the new area codes to become part of California even ten years earlier. They had a list and there is also half of 209 going to 554, up North half of 916 is being split. I can't prove it, except to say what my telephone book says now, and what they told us in February of 1990.
