Ron could have carried it with him while he work and had it on vibrate so it didn't bother anyone, especially if he was dealing with drugs, ect. He could have also left it in the back in the employees room. It is a question that only Ron knows the answer to and he is able to tell us. I think the pages tell the story. Unless he cleared them. They were common then, pagers were then the equilvilent to Cell phones today. actually since the seventies people had pagers, they just didn't have the vibrating kind until the eitghies. I know drug dealers had started using Cell Phones in 94 as a new law in the late eighties which protected peoples air rights to privacy after a big to do over a huge drug bust in Northern CA somewhere happened because the police picked up the conversations on Cell phones. Although convicted and sent away for a long time, an attorney began fighting for the same privacy of communications with land lines as with cell phones, excluding radios because of previous precedence. The thing is, it ended up more difficult to prosecute or get a warrant on Cell Phones and a lot easier to Wire Tap on a regular phone. Just like the law of Sexual Harassment on the job, in putting this into law, they turned around and removed normal harassment so it became legal for employers to insult and harass employees as long as it wasn't sexual.
