I am scanning through Evidence Dismissed and I have found why I think that Luper had suspicions--no scratch that--KNEW something wasn't on the up and up.
He is there all morning. He is the one who starts the crime log at Rockingham. He KNOWS the crime log does not match the testimony--especially Furhman's when Fuhrman doesn't sign in til 11:45 and Roberts has signed in at 8:00AM.
He has been there through when Vannatter claims he wanted the Bronco hauled in that morning and it wasn't.
He is there when Vannatter returns, Clark is there, OJ returns. He knows that OJ returns just after 11 not just after 12 when Vannatter testifies that he does.
He knows OJ is there longer than 10 minutes. He sees like Mrs. Weitzman tells Dom Dunne that she was allowed to drive into the estate and that Weitzman went into the house. Kardashian says the same. Mrs. Weitzman tells that OJ did in fact go into the house and that he and Weitzman talk in there.
Luper is there through all that. He is also there when Clark arrives and talks with Fuhrman although he knows it is a lie when she denies it just as the television video shows that she is lying.
He may be well aware of what was done and not done that is in direct opposition to what any of the other detectives may say.
I think he saw and heard enough that day to be sure that this is not on the up and up.
Isn't he one of the ones who was told on the stand that he was "mistaken" about WHEN Clark arrived at Rockingham? I'm not sure about that.
I can tell you now that by rereading the Evidence Dismissed book--it reads more like Detective Friday than Fuhrman's book does---that this is a made up story and it contradicts itself (and themselves) six ways to Sunday.
More about that in another post. I just wanted to say that I can see Luper as a witness to events that when the trial arrived and testimony was given--he knew he could contridict what they said.
