Prien, I have Always thought this from the day that it happened. It was not until after the defense had been on that he had his "anxiety" attack but I think something that Cochran said or something that happened that day (like Darden and cops going after Mary Anne Gerchus or other things) that put him in a panic.
Perhaps it was that Gerchus managed to get to the defense when the prosecution thought they had buried her.
I have always wanted to go back and look at that again. I have a tape of Cochran's opening statements (and maybe Clark's too) so I might just do that some day. charlie
